Disappear 04:26
Mother can you hear me are you locked up in your head Brother are you listening but you can't hear what's been said I've never known human fear Have no home and disappear Father do you know me you're a stranger a strange dad Don't bother with your stories cause you can't change what's been had I've never known human fear Be alone and disappear Can't save yourself with what you have Just don't forget to remember that All your regrets can't take them back And the world you knew before won't be there forever more Cover what's familiar like a picture with no frame Smother all your memories so you won't feel so ashamed I've never shown human fear Have no home and disappear Can't change yourself erase your past Just don't forget to remember that Cleanse old regrets can't take them back I feel guilty but what have I done I'm a useless terrible son When the pieces are broken down What's the difference right or wrong Mother are you lonely are you caught up in the past Being alone have no fear To the unknown I'll disappear Come face yourself with all you have And soon forget your vacant past All your regrets can't take them back And the world you knew before is the world you can't ignore It won't be there forever more Mother can you hear me are you locked out of your head I've never known human fear Have no home and disappear

Escape 05:35
Vs. 1 The future's in reverse if you're thinking backwards Life is to rehearse your death thereafter Living for the day it's now or never Pre Chorus / Bridge You can try to love yourself with the love of someone else. Voiceless 04:14
You gave it up without a fight We take it all we have no right A human clone a species life We take control and sacrifice to feed our soul We ate it up and bought your lies Don't see their blood don't hear their cries We carry on the curtain's drawn When we say it's not right Out of mind out of sight You know the reasons that we make Don't compensate the lives we take of the Voiceless It's our choices We raised you up and gave you life The weakest culled the sharpest knife Our senses dulled when justified Don't you feel bad Does it make you sad When you know it's not right Out of mind out of sight You know the feelings that we fake Don't compensate the lives we take of the Voiceless Making choices for the Voiceless Use our Voices We build you up then tear you down Can't get enough Our planet home a world divide Yesterday's born tomorrow dies We'll never learn our own demise Can't take it back and we can't backtrack And we know it's not right Out of mind out of sight We know the choices that we make Don't compensate the lives we take of the Voiceless Making choices for the Voiceless We're their voices Lyrics - Pete Mac Pete Mac - Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Drums, Cello Brian Casey - Piano

Alien Skin 05:49
Something's taken its toll It feeds right through your soul It's coming up through the ground I can't take anymore I feel like letting go It's coming up through the ground Something's taken control I fear I've come undone It's coming up through the ground The spores I breathe them in They block the pores inside my skin I wish I was an alien So I could hide inside my skin When I look away but still I yearn To anticipate the end of the world (I wish I was an alien) The end of the world (So I could hide inside my skin) I can't take much more The fear of letting go Is coming up through the ground The spores I breathe them in The darkest sores inside my skin I wish I was an alien So I could hide my human skin I'm far away but still return To anticipate the end of the world Is coming up through the ground It's coming up though the ground Is there no other way at all There's no other way to fall There's no other way to crawl It's coming up though the ground

Mother Nature's Revenge Is this really the end Can we take back everything we did to you Human nature repent We've destroyed everything Can't we take back all the things we done to you We can't take anymore We've taken it all and what's left for us to dominate and rule Mother Nature my friend I hope you can mend Can't we give back everything we took from you We can't take anymore She's taken control of what's left and now she's gone and turned on you It's taken it's toll The state of the world Is it too late to stop and start again as new Time is a tightrope Walking blindfold Until we fall off No safety net instead a noose What's gone wrong what's you gonna do Can we take back everything we did to you What's gone wrong what's you gonna do Mother Nature's Revenge I know you resent while we sit back and do it all again to you She gave us the world We've made it a hole While we break and burn everything inside of you We've taken control but what we don't know Is that she'll turn back, take back, come back and make it all again as new Mother Nature my friend I hope you can mend Pete Mac - Vocals, Guitars, Bass, Drums, Cello Brian Casey - Piano

Worry 03:05
I worry that I'm old I worry like I'm told I hurry but I'm slow To carry all this load But I worry no more I don't feel like I did before I'm feeling restored Now I worry no more I worry that I'm sold I worry until I'm told To hurry down that road This story is getting old But I worry no more I don't feel like I did before That feeling you know But I worry no more Time won't ever question and time won't be wasted Too much over thinking my mind won't be pacing My mind won't won't be racing I worry like I'm told To worry until I'm old I worry that I'll fold My story left untold But I worry no more I don't feel like I did before I'm feeling restored Now I worry no more

Light of the day shines colder I know who you are and I'm almost afraid to say Life of the day grows older I know who you are and I love you anyway Until my life is over Until daylight is over Light of the day shines shorter The days go to the dark And the night goes straight to day Falling asleep to start over Awaken the day as the light just fades away When my life is over When my time is over The daylight fades to night When my life is over Light of the day shines darker Don't know who you are and I'm almost afraid to say If my life is over If my time is over The daylight fades to night when my life is over Light of the day shines colder I know who you are and I love you by the way

Surrender 03:27
Has it been something that I said Usually I don't remember All these thoughts I do surrender Gradually a better part of me I give to you all that I treasure Nothing means more than forever How can I forget you when you're half of me Now I'm trying to remember The memories I keep forever How could I neglect you when you're part of me A species of a kindred nature All of this I do surrender Sadness a feeling of regret I sooner would be late for something But time keeps running into nothing Happiness a feeling left unkept I'd sooner wait for that to happen I'm open to accept rejection How could I protect you when you're far away Now I'm trying to remember Memories that last forever How could I reject you, you're the same as me A species of a kindred nature All of this I surely treasure Now that you're here to stay Somehow you and I could stay connected Now that you're here with me Somehow I'm more like I am less rejected Memory is taking over me Now I try not to remember Thoughts that turn into a cluster Imagining the water running clean Wash away and calm the tension Sleep all day and lose connection How can I protect you if you fall away How can I create a meaning A reason to wake up for something How could I forget you when you're part of me Memories I'll keep forever All my love I do surrender now

Less I Have 04:19
Don't ask for anything at all Don't need it staring at the wall Don't want for anything at all Like all things great and small The less I have the happier I am Does that make me less of a man As I live life without a plan The only way I can Hey I don't want it I don't need it Wait I don't want it I don't need it Hey I don't buy it I don't need it Wait I don't own it I don't feel it now Don't feel it now Don't ask for anyone at all If nobody's there to take the call I feel like I'm barely here at all My life seems bigger small Hey I don't want it I don't need it Wait I don't want it I don't need it Hey I don't buy it I don't need it Wait I don't own it I don't feel it now Don't feel it now Don't feel it now Don't need it now Don't feel it now The less I have the happier I am Still don't know who I am

Hibernate 05:14
Pain is all that ever was Pain dissolves the wounds Rain is all that ever was Wash away the earth Faith in all that never was With arms around the world I pray for all that never was I pray for what it's worth Afraid of all that never was Ashamed of what I'm worth I blame it all on everyone We all destroy the world Evening feels like a huge weight Morning feels like a clean slate I guess it's time to hibernate Hibernate

about

Hiber Nation is the second full length solo album by Pete Mac. Recorded over the space of 3 years from 2020 to 2023 with many tracks written over the covid 19 lockdown and inspired by its isolation. The album title Hiber Nation came from the idea of society becoming a recluse and being forced to hibernate during this strange period while not being equipped to function as before when emerging out the other side as a result of this hibernation. Most of the album was self recorded and produced at home except for tracks 'Disappear' and 'Escape' which were recorded at Wavefield Recording Studios, Clonakilty, West Cork and produced by Brian Casey. Pete Mac played most instruments on the album with the addition of Cello which was a new instrument and learning curve taken up in 2020 and something that has always been on his musical radar.
Pete also collaborated with many artists on this album including iconic US/French singer Lisa Papinieau who contributed guest vocals on 'Escape' which was recorded long distance from the US. Other artists include Mary Moore who played piano on 'Alien Skin' and 'Surrender', MSea who added vocals on 'Less I Have' and 'Hibernate', JMac who added vocals to 'Hibernate' and Brian Casey who played piano on tracks 'Voiceless' and 'Mother Nature's Revenge'. Peter O'Sullivan also played drums on tracks 'Disappear' and 'Escape'.
'Hiber Nation' follows a different direction to most of Pete's previous music from his band Paradox to his last solo album. Many songs have a personal meaning and take a critical view on much of today's society from animal rights issues on 'Voiceless' to the state of the natural world on 'Mother Nature's Revenge'. It's been nearly 14 years since his last original solo album 'In Limbo' was released back in 2009. With the Paradox discography included this will be Pete Mac's 7th album release to date.
